The South Burnett Regional Council’s by-election for Division 6 has turned into a cliff-hanger.
After the distribution of preferences this evening, candidate Ros Heit had drawn ahead of rival Don Pinwill by two votes at the close of counting.
Mr Pinwill – who had been leading Mrs Heit by 36 primary votes until preferences were distributed – has now requested a recount.
This is expected to occur on Wednesday.
