A total of 71,800sq metres has been resealed at Kingaroy Airport, including the runway, taxiway and apron.
“It was a mammoth task to get the tarmac sealed for airport traffic in such a short space of time,” Cr Damien Tessmann said.
“The Spring weather we have experienced over the last couple of weeks has meant that the conditions for resealing were perfect and as a result work was completed in good time and with good value for money.
“This asset is an important piece of infrastructure which will continue to give us economic benefit into the future. A number of key businesses operate from the airport and we hope to increase this into the future.”
More than 213,000 litres of bitumen was used in this project and it required 900 cu m of aggregate to be applied.
Line marking will take place later this month.
