A total of eight candidates have nominated for the South Burnett Regional Council’s Division 6 by-election.
Nominations for the position – created by the resignation of long-serving councillor Cheryl Dalton in July – closed at noon today.
The eight candidates, in ballot paper order, are:
- Ron McKinnon
- Michael Magnussen
- Ros Heit
- Peter Powne
- Marc Peters
- Wendy Turner
- Ian Newson
- Don Pinwill
The by-election will be held by postal ballot, and ballot papers are expected to be mailed to all registered Division 6 residents on Monday.
Counting of the ballots will begin on Saturday, September 14, and will close on Tuesday, September 24.
