2019 Reconciliation Fun Run

The 6th annual Reconciliation Fun Run will be run between Murgon and Cherbourg this morning, kicking off with a preliminary assembly and warm-up from 6:30am to around 7:45am at the Murgon Showgrounds in Macalister Street and proceeding at 8:00am along the highway and Cherbourg Road (which will be closed to traffic for the event) to the Ration Shed Museum at Barambah Avenue in Cherbourg. This year's Fun Run will be offering an extra course in addition to the 7km course - a more leisurely 3km circuit that will start at Memorial Park in Cherbourg (so you'll need to be at Cherbourg by 7:45am before the road is closed), with a warm-up between 8:00am and 9:00am before a 9:30am start. The two Fun Runs will be followed by a day of games, foods, dance, music, stalls, workshops and displays. The Reconciliation Fun Run is open to everyone, from school children to adults, older people, families, people with disabilities, sporting clubs or workplace teams. All courses can be run, walked or travelled in a pram or wheelchair - the chief aim of the day is for participants and spectators to simply have fun. Last year's family-friendly event was the biggest yet and drew raves from everyone who attended. Registrations will be taken at the Murgon Showgrounds or Cherbourg's Memorial Park this morning, or can be made online. More details? Phone (07) 4169-5753 or 0427-340-710, or send an email.
