Jumping Clinic & Mini Jumping Competition - Nanango
The Nanango Pony Club will be holding a Jumping Clinic with Don Sullivan at the Nanango Pony Club grounds inside the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street, Nanango from 8:00am to 3:00pm today. There will bre three jump heights of 50-60cm, 70-80cm and 90cm-1 metre. Cost is $65 per horse and this includes 2 x one hour lessons plus free morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. After the clinic, there'll be a Jumping Competition between 3:00pm and 5:00pm, and clinic participants will get free nominations in that as well. Note: Today's activities will replace the club's normal monthly jump competition (the next jump day competition will be held in April).
Sunday Golf - Proston

Nanango & District Camera Club Meeting
The Nanango & District Camera Club will be meeting at St Patrick's School library at 16 Alfred Street, Nanango from 1:00pm onwards this afternoon. Tina Dial from Ipswich - who's won many national and international photography competitions - will be a special guest speaker at today's meeting, and she'll be talking about pet and bird photography. And afterwards - if you'd ike to learn more about how to use that new camera you got for Christmas - there'll be plenty of expert help available. Timbertown Woodworkers Group Meeting - Blackbutt
The Timbertown Woodworkers Group will be holding their regular Sunday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:00am until around 12:00pm today. Blackbutt Lions Country Markets
The Blackbutt Lions Country Markets - run on the third Sunday of every month - will be held next to the Blackbutt Community Hall in Coulson Street, Blackbutt from 7:00am until around mid-day today. The markets offer a wide range of locally produced arts, crafts and and freshly harvested foodstuffs and everyone is welcome along!
Shave For A Cure - Nanango
CANCELLED The Palace Hotel in Drayton Street, Nanango will be holding a Shave For A Cure fundraiser from 12:00 noon onwards today to help raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation. There'll be live music, karaoke with Billy Tea and Honey Bee, face painting, raffles, a rip-roaring BBQ and (of course!) shaving. Everyone is welcome. More details from the hotel on (07) 4163-1287.
Murgon RC Club Race Meeting - Murgon
The Murgon RC Club for radio-controlled cars will be holding Round 3 of their Summer Series at Angelfield Aerodrome at the end of Macalister Street, Murgon from 10:00am to 2:00pm today (drive w-a-y past the Showgrounds along the dirt road and through the gate marked "Private Property"). Competitors will be racing six gruelling 7-minute laps before the adrenalin packed finals, and there'll be a BBQ lunch and soft drinks available too. Spectators are more than welcome to come along for free, but to take part in the racing you'll need to be a PCYC member ($30 per year for an adult or $60 per family - you can join up on site today) and the fee for racing is $10. Kilkivan Sunday Markets
The weekly Kilkivan Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. Sunday Afternoon Darts - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Darts Association will be holding their regular Sunday afternoon Pot Luck Doubles darts competitions from 11:00am to 4:00pm at their premises at Shed 1, 18 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. A $10 playing fee applies, but that includes a great BBQ lunch. New players are always welcome - the club caters for all skill levels from novice to expert - and you can obtain more details by phoning Kurt on (0403) 400-771 (after 5:00pm) or Bianca on (0431) 954-023. Note: Pot Luck Doubles may not run on every Sunday due to other competitions, so call first to check if you really, really want to play PLD today.
St Patrick's Concert - Kumbia
Begorrah! A special St Patrick's Concert (in honour of St Patrick, who allegedly drove all the snakes out of Ireland) will be held at the Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, Kumbia this afternoon. Doors will open at 1:30pm and the concert will feature a variety of Irish music from entertainers Caz and Andrew Maddern, raffles, a lucky door prize and a great afternoon tea. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for high school students (primary school students can get in for free) and there'll be prizes for the best Irish costumes too. Everyone is welcome! More details? Ulysses MC Sunday Breakfast Ride - Kingaroy
The South Burnett's favourite motorcycle club, the Ulysses MC Burnett Branch (motto: "Grow old disgracefully") will be holding a Sunday breakfast ride to Kumbia park this morning. Members will meet at the Kingaroy Hotel at the corner of Haly and Youngman Streets at 7:30am for a ride to Kumbia for brekkie at around 8:30am. Visitors and prospective new members are very welcome! Sunday Afternoon Touch Footy Training - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Touch Football Association will be holding their regular Sunday afternoon touch footy training sessions at T.J. O'Neill Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy for juniors (at 4:00pm) and seniors (at 5:00pm). New players are very welcome!
14th Annual Maidenwell Folk Gathering
The third (and final) day of the 14th annual Maidenwell Folk Gathering will get underway around 10:00am this morning at the Maidenwell Hotel and continue right through until late this afternoon. The Folk Gathering is a pure folk music event (ie fully acoustic - no electrics are allowed) and has built up a very loyal following over the years. A highlight of today's Festival activities will be an open-air jam session at Coomba Falls. The Festival itself is completely free to attend and there's also free camping available around the hotel. Lots of great food will be available too but no BYO is allowed - you'll need to get your supplies from the Maidenwell Hotel if you want to party hard really hard. More details? Dressage Competition - Murgon
A come-as-you-are Dressage Competition will be held at the Murgon Showgrounds from 9:00am onwards this morning. The competition will be offering ribbons for 1st to 3rd winners, along with sponsored rosettes and trophies in seven major categories. Spectators are very welcome. More details?
