South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Friday Night Jukebox - Nanango
The South Burnett's most popular emcee DJdirex will be holding a "Friday Night Jukebox" session from 8:00pm until late tonight at the Fitzroy Hotel in Fitzroy Street, Nanango. You can request any music you like - Mike has a h-u-g-e repertoire - and admission is free. More details from the hotel on (07) 4163-1506.
Friday Social Golf - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). South Burnett PCYC Friday Night Live - Murgon
The South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon will be holding another of its "Friday Night Live" sessions from 6:00pm to 9:00pm this evening. Friday Night Live is open to all primary school and high school students and the get-together features music and a range of activities to suit everyone. Dinner is also provided and so is free bus travel from Goomeri and Wondai (the Goomei bus will leave Dickenson's Park at 5:30pm and return at 9:15pm; and the Wondai bus will leave from the Timber Industry Museum at 5:30pm and return at 9:15pm). Admission is $4 per head and you can find out more details by phoning the PCYC on (07) 4168-1889. Note: Three more Friday Night Live sessions will be held on June 1st, 15th and 29th.
South Burnett Wine Appreciation Society Meeting - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Wine Appreciation Society will be holding its latest monthly meeting for 2012 at the old Kingaroy Butter Factory Conference Room at the rear of Taste South Burnett at 67 William Street in Kingaroy from 6:30pm onwards this evening. This month's meeting will feature a tasting of Pinot Noir - an elegant red wine variety that originated in the Burgundy region of France but which is now grown in many other countries, including Australia. The Wine Appreciation Society is open to anyone who'd like to learn more about wines and the $10 meeting fee covers wine tastings and nibbles. Everyone is welcome! More details? Endeavour Foundation Bingo - Kingaroy
The Endeavour Foundation will be holding bingo games at Kingaroy RSL from 10:00am this morning. More than $1,000 in jackpots will be on offer. More details from the RSL on (07) 4162-1755
Friday Night Dinner & Social Darts - Nanango
The Nanango and District Darts Association will be holding their regular Friday night social darts games at their club house at the end of George Street, Nanango from 7:15pm onwards this evening. They'll also be offering inexpensive home-cooked dinners from 6:30pm if you want to chow down beforehand. The club's licenced bar will be operating too, and both visitors and potential new members are very welcome.
