Here's something different! The Commercial Hotel at the corner of Glendon and Haly Streets in Kingaroy will be hosting the second round of auditions for the new Big Break Talent Search from 8:30pm until around 10:30pm tonight. Big Break is looking for the South Burnett's best performers (in any style) and tonight's auditions will follow this schedule:
  • • 8:30pm: Jason Perkins - a blues and rock singer-songwriter playing acoustic.
  • • 9:00pm: Chris Wenner and Josh Middleton playing a set of blues & roots numbers featuring a bass and lead guitar along with drums.
  • • 9:30pm: Paula-Jayne Ogilvie - Guitar soloist delivering a pleasing line up of modern country faves.
  • • 10:00pm: Mossy and Steve-O take a break from stretching an arm at the bar to deliver a surprise package with dueling acoustic guitars
Big Break is sponsored by Musician's Oasis, Tanglewood Guitars, DJdirex Entertainment and (of course) The Com Pub Kingaroy and there'll be one final set of Thursday night auditions net week, followed by heats and semi-finals later this month, and then the Grand Final on Friday 8th June for some really, really great prizes. Anyone is welcome to try out at the auditions and you can pick up entry forms from Musician's Oasis at 20 Alford Street, Kingaroy or at the hotel.
