South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Clean Up Australia Day
Today is national Clean Up Australia Day, a national event which occurs every year on the first Sunday in March:
 
Hivesville - South Burnett Regional Council has organised a special clean up for residents in the Hivesville area. Hivesville residents should contact Mayor Kathy Duff on 0437-020-705 to register their participation in the event.
 
Kingaroy - The Kingaroy branch of Native Plants Queensland will be holding a Weeding Bee at the Carroll Nature Reserve in 16 Coral Street, Kingaroy, from 9:00am. Registration will take place at a table just inside the gate. Please bring drinking water, morning tea and a folding chair; gloves and safety glasses; wear suitable clothing and footwear ie. hat, long-sleeved shirt, full length trousers and stout shoes or boots. If possible, please bring along your own weeding tools, such as trowels, secateurs and mattocks. Buckets and fertiliser bags are useful for seed and bulb removal.
Bell Campdraft
The one-day Bell Maiden Campdraft - part of the Bell Show Society's big show weekend - will be held from 9:00am today at the showgrounds on the corner of Wallace and Maxwell streets, Bell. Entry is free!
Tennis Tournament - Kingaroy
Mr B's Professional Tennis is hosting its first tennis tournament of the year this Saturday and Sunday at the courts in Oliver Bond Street, Kingaroy. Events will be available for all ages and abilities. Bookings can be made online
Shanleigh Rose - Linville

Linville Monthly Markets
The Linville Progress Association will be holding their monthly markets at Linville Community Hall from 7:00am to around 12:00 noon this morning. The markets have a great BBQ breakfast and lots of fresh produce, home-made foods, crafts and bric-a-brac and run on the first Sunday of each month. Everyone is welcome and potential new stallholders should contact the association by email
Kumbia Museum
The Kumbia and District Historical Society's museum, located in the Federation Heritage Centre behind Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, will be open from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon. Junior Rugby League - Kingaroy
Nanango Stags U14s will be taking on Across The Waves U14s from 11:45am this morning in a pre-season game at T.J. O'Neill Oval in Kingaroy.
Open Mic & Barefoot Bowls - Kilkivan
The Kilkivan Bowls Club, in Crescent Street, Kilkivan, will be hosting an open mic / jam session alongside barefoot bowls from 1:00pm today. Live music will be on the verandah. BYO instruments and just join in! Meals, snacks and the licensed bar will open at noon.
Community Pickleball - Woolooga
Woolooga Community Hall is hosting community pickleball every Sunday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the hall at 8 Thomas Street, Woolooga. Everyone is welcome to come along, including beginners. All equipment is provided at the court, so just bring water!
Sunday Sesh With Sat'n Suns - Nanango

Community Share - Tablelands
The Tablelands and Surrounding Areas Community Share is happening from 8:45am today at Kapernick Park, Crownthorpe Road, Tableland. Bring along pots, cuttings, plants, eggs, homemade chutney or whatever you have to share for free (and meet your neighbours!).
Sausage Sizzle & Pool - Blackbutt
Blackbutt RSL Club, on the corner of Muir and Douglas streets, will be putting on a sausage sizzle and social pool afternoon from 3:00pm to 6:00pm today. Everyone is welcome!
Sunday Roast Lunch - Wondai
Dimities Cottage at 49 Haly Street, Wondai (opposite the Wondai Regional Art Gallery) will be hosting a $20 per head BYO Sunday roast lunch from 12:00 noon today featuring roast chicken and seasonal vegetables followed by sticky date pudding, tea and coffee and - yes! - no washing up afterwards. Free Sunday Lunch - Kingaroy
A free community lunch is available every Sunday from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at The Old Railway Station building, O'Neill Square, in Kingaroy. The Community Serving Community Meals Project is co-ordinated by the South Burnett Support Alliance and relies on volunteers from the local community.
