South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
101st Murgon Show
Day 1 of the 101st Murgon Show will kick off at 4:00pm this afternoon at the Murgon Showgrounds in Macalister Street with Prime Cattle judging and Stud Beef Young Paraders; followed by Prime Cattle Young Judges at 5:30pm, Stud Beef Young Judges at 6:30pm and Dog High Jumps at 7:00pm. There'll also be entertainment and games into the evening. Admission to this year's Show is $15 for adults; $10 for concessions and students aged 10 to 17 (U10s are free); or $45 for a family (2 adults plus 2 children). Afghanistan Day Service - Nanango
A service to commemorate the service of Australian Defence Force personnel in Afghanistan - Australia's longest war - will be held from 10:00am this morning at the Nanango Cenotaph, on the corner of Henry and Drayton streets. All welcome!
Cooking On A Budget - Nanango

Art Gallery Opening - Kingaroy
RESCHEDULED from March 8 Kingaroy Art Gallery is featuring works by renowned Kingaroy artist, the late David Bryce, this month as a prelude to next year's Rural Art Awards. Works by paper tole expert Rosemarie Matthews-Frederick will be in the main gallery. The official opening will be held from 5:00pm tonight with a cocktail evening at the gallery in Haly Street (opposite the peanut silos). Entry is free and everyone is welcome!
Centenary Peanut Harvest Week Golf - Kingaroy
Today is Day 4 of the Kingaroy Golf Club's big week of golfing events from March 10 to March 15. Today there'll be a Medley Four-Person Ambrose ($21 per person). Draw and tees will be available from 9:00am. Players must have a GA handicap. Phone the club on (07) 4162-1720 for more information.
Cheap As Chips Night - Kumbia
The Kumbia Hall Committee will be celebrating St Patrick's Day at their monthly Cheap As Chips night at Kumbia Hall in Bell Street from 6:00pm this evening. There'll be an Irish theme (so lots of green!) As well as great food, there'll be trivia, games, raffles and a licensed bar. Friday Night At The Shed
The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott Car Park) will be open from 7:00pm until late tonight for local musicians and anyone else who enjoys music to come along, bring their instruments and jam in a relaxed and informal setting, or just sit on the Shed's lounges, listen in and enjoy the wide variety of talent on offer. Alcoholics Anonymous - Murgon
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for membership. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution. CANCELLED A Former Origin Greats (FOGs) gala dinner will be held at Kingaroy Town Hall from 6:30pm tonight. The two-course dinner will be supporting junior rugby league in the region. The panel discussion, compered by Sam Thaiday, will feature Wally Lewis, Matt Gillett, Trevor Gillmeister, Darius Boyd and Chris Close. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 1A (Lot 3) Railway Terrace in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
