South Burnett Soccer Sevens - Kingaroy
The annual South Burnett Soccer Sevens will be held at the Kingaroy Soccer Grounds in Oliver Bond Street, Kingaroy all this weekend. This giant pre-season carnival - run by the Kingaroy Senior Soccer Club - attracts teams from all over south-east Queensland and is one of the region's major annual sporting events. This year organisers expect there'll be almost 400 players competing in men's, women's and Over 35s teams for prizemoney. Today's games will get under way at around 9:40am. Admission to the Soccer Sevens is 100% free for spectators and there'll be a licensed bar, BBQ and canteen operating at the grounds, too. The carnival will conclude tomorrow with more games and finals matches.
Art Gallery Opening - Kingaroy
Kingaroy Art Gallery is featuring works by multidisciplinary artist Ruth Ellington this month. The official opening will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm tonight with a cocktail evening at the gallery in Haly Street (opposite the peanut silos). Entry is free and everyone is welcome!
Nanango Country Markets
- The Nanango Show Society will be holding their regular monthly Country Markets at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 6:00am to around 12:00 noon today. As usual, the markets will feature a wide variety of craft stalls, new and used goods, plants, poultry and pets, but they'll be operating in a COVID Safe way. The Nanango Markets are the largest rural market in south east Queensland and attract up to 420 stallholders. But new stallholders are always very welcome too! More info? Learn To Crochet Day - Kingaroy

Nanango Stamp Fair
Are you interested in collecting stamps? Have a stamp collection and not sure of its value? Need some stamps to complete your collection? Or just starting your collection? Then this may just be the day for you! The Nanango Stamp Club will be holding its annual Stamp Fair from 9:00am to 3:00pm today at the Nanango State High School Hall at 54 Elk Street, Nanango, and admission is free! There'll also be a stamp auction, a bargain table, raffles, a cent auction and a very busy canteen run by the Kumbia QCWA. Professional stamp dealers as well as visiting stamp clubs will be in attendance. Everyone's welcome to come along and get stuck in! Ringsfield House Open Day - Nanango
Historic Ringsfield House, 41-45 Alfred Street, Nanango, is hosting an Open Day today! Local artists will be featured in the art gallery from 8:30am to 11:00am and tea and scones will be available on the verandah for $10.00 per person from 9:00am to 11:00am.
Aqua Aerobics - Wondai
- Wondai Swimming Pool is hosting free Aqua Aerobics on Saturday mornings from 7:00am until February 8 as part of a South Burnett Regional Council program. Spots can be booked online
Saturday Cricket
South Burnett Junior Cricket is back today! Games start at 8:00am. Stage 1: Kumbia v Nanango at Kumbia Sportsground; Stage 2: Kingaroy Kookaburras v Kingaroy Cobras at Taabinga State School; and Nanango Scorpions v Murgon at Alan Downie Sportsfields, Nanango. Stage 3: Nanango Scorpions v Kingaroy at Alan Downie Sportsfields, Nanango. Round 10 of the South Burnett Senior 40-Over competition will be played today, with all games starting at 12:30pm: Nanango Scorpions v Tingoora Mercenaries at Alan Downie Sportsfields, Nanango; Tingoora Vikings v Murgon Diggers at Tingoora Sportsground; Wooroolin Warriors v Wondai at Lyle Vidler Oval, Kingaroy; and Kingaroy Services v Tingoora Huntsmen at Wondai Cricket Ground.
Footloose Fun - Cooyar
- The Cooyar Agricultural Society is holding an evening of "footloose fun", ie. line-dancing for beginners, at the Cooyar Hall from 6:00pm this evening. The night of family will also include the judging of the Showgirl and Rural Ambassador competitions ahead of the the Cooyar Show. Cost is $20 for adults, $10 for high school students or $5 for primary school students, which includes supper. A licensed bar will also be running all night.
Nanango Men's Shed
- The Nanango Men's Shed at the corner of Mt Stanley Road and Heathermore Lane, Nanango, will be open from 8:30am to around noon today for its regular Saturday get-together. Saturday Library Day - Maidenwell
- The volunteers from the Maidenwell QCWA will be supervising the regular weekly Saturday Library Day (featuring books loaned from Kingaroy Library) from 2:00pm to 4:00pm this afternoon. A library day is held in the Maidenwell Hall in Pool Street every Wednesday and Saturday.
Wooroolin Line Dancers
- The Wooroolin Line Dancers will be holding line dancing classes for beginners and intermediate dancers at Wooroolin Hall on the Bunya Highway at Wooroolin from 9:00am to 10:00am this morning (for beginners) and 10:00am to 12:30pm (intermediate).
