It’s been a good start to 2015 with most clubs getting early rounds of their championships played, or a draw up on the wall.
With consistent light rain, the threat of a tree-falling thunderstorm, commitments to Australia Day functions and other social requirements, the South Burnett’s Games Directors had their hands full completing their own Australia Day program this week.
Rain has been a bit of nuisance in some areas but hasn’t really disrupted much play.

The main talking point this week was the successful Ladies Rose Bowl Carnival in Nanango.
Bowls at Kingaroy can always attract a gallery, and last Saturday’s Ladies Consistency Competition was no exception.
The long weekend became a short weekend for the Kingaroy Mixed Fours Carnival.
The Burnett District Ladies Triples competition was played at the Wondai Bowls Club on two days last week. Ten teams from throughout the region in the prestigious two bowl triples competition.
Kingaroy had a very big day last Sunday – Dave and Beryl’s day … Dave and Beryl Woods are long-time members of the Kingaroy Bowls Club
Kingaroy’s Ladies Carnival was held last weekend, and it attracted a number of Australia’s best lady bowlers, including former world Fours Champion and Commonwealth Games representative Julie Keegan.
It’s Saturday morning so it’s time to check around the bowls clubs again and see what’s been happening.
