February 7, 2015

It’s been a good start to 2015 with most clubs getting early rounds of their championships played, or a draw up on the wall.

Gayndah is well under way with early rounds of A Singles, Men’s Pairs, and Mixed Pairs.

Some clubs took the time-off over the holiday break to do maintenance.

Yarraman finished their program with runs of spraying for nematodes and other lawn problems.

All greens look great after most got some rain during the month.

Kingaroy News

Kingaroy kicked off their year with a farewell to Ray and Raewyn Crawford.

The couple are setting off on their Australia-wide tour and sponsored a tournament with secret conditions.

There were numerous trophies available but the day was not all about winning, it was about having a good time and saying  “farewell and safe travelling”.

Forty-two players took to the greens.

The play for the day was teams of three playing 2 x 10 end games. The method of determining winners remained a secret until after the games were completed.

After the games, Ray selected a number of ends. Totals scored on those ends was added together and the team with the highest score was the winner. Using the same format, but using the lowest accumulated score, determined the runners-up
