RES – the company developing the proposed Tarong West Wind Farm at Ironpot – will be holding two more public information sessions next week.

On Monday (July 10), company representatives will be at the Ironpot Farmers Hall from 10:00am-1:00pm; and at Kumbia Memorial Hall from 4:00pm-7:00pm.

The updates follow more technical and environmental assessments completed after previous feedback collected from the community.

The amended project details will be explained at the two sessions.

RES plans to lodge planning, environment and development applications soon with both the State and Federal governments.

Tarong West (formerly known as Iron Leaf) will consist of 128 wind turbines located across several grazing properties about 8km north-west of Kumbia.

The State Government-owned Stanwell Corporation will become the eventual owner if the project gets the green light, making it one of the largest publicly owned wind farm projects in Australia.
