Thirteen local community groups will be sharing nearly $285,000 from Round 104 of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.

The successful recipients were announced by Attorney-General Yvette D’Ath on Monday.

Round 104 has distributed $14.6 million to almost 600 groups across Queensland.

Ms D’Ath said grant recipients would enjoy flexible arrangements in acquitting the latest funding, as many were dealing with the effects of COVID-19.

“Some organisations have had to delay or extend the timeline for their events, purchases or projects as a result of COVID-19,” the Attorney-General said.

“The flexible arrangements we’ve put in place will ensure organisations get the maximum benefit from their funding.

“So many organisations rely on the funding this program delivers for things ranging from the purchase of vehicles or musical and sound equipment, the construction of sporting change rooms or to hold trail running events.

“They help keep Queenslanders connected in these challenging times and bring communities together”

The grants are merit based and funding is allocated by an independent panel.

Applications for Round 106 are now open and will close at 11:59pm on August 31, 2020.
