Students from Nanango and Kingaroy State High Schools were amongst almost 300 who attended a recent ‘Discovery Day” at the University of Southern Queensland.

The day, which attracted students from across southern Queensland, provided an opportunity for Year 7 and 8 students to explore post-school study.

The students were exposed to a range of career options in interactive university subject area “taster” sessions.

Executive Director Helen Nolan welcomed the students to USQ Toowoomba

“Going to university can be daunting for some but the USQ Discovery Day shows that life at university can be fun and exciting,” Mrs Nolan said.

“We offered a broad range of activities so the students could experience different courses we have on offer, and perhaps areas they had not thought of before.”

The students also had the opportunity to speak with USQ Career Development Practitioners and current students about different study and career paths.
