Entries for this year’s Hancock Prospecting Community Christmas Lights Competition 2016 are now open.

Mayor Keith Campbell said this year’s competition will once again be offering a substantial prize pool, thanks to sponsorship from Hancock Prospecting and the Georgina Hope Foundation.

Prizes include family holidays to Singapore, and cash payments of up to $1000.

The main prize, for the South Burnett Champion, is a trip to Singapore for two adults and two children (up to 12 years) including return economy, full-service flights from Brisbane to Singapore.

The trip includes five nights’ accommodation at the Shangri La Hotel in a tower wing deluxe room, with breakfast daily. Return private transfers between Singapore Airport and the Shangri La Hotel, high tea at Raffles and comprehensive travel insurance are included. This holiday is worth an estimated $15,000.

The second prize, for the South Burnett Champion Runner Up, is a trip to Singapore for two adults and two children (up to 12 years). This trip also includes flights, transfers, a Raffles high tea and travel insurance, along with five nights’ accommodation at the Traders Hotel in a superior room, and breakfast daily. This holiday is valued at an estimated $10,000.

There’ll also be cash prizes for South Burnett town and rural winners and runners-up, and prizes for the best business displays.

Competition entries will close on Friday, December 2 and all competitors will need to have their lights on for judging from Tuesday, December 6 onwards between 7:00pm and 11:00pm.
