The SBRC presented community grants totalling $113,500 to more than 60 local groups in 2014; an information evening about how to apply for the grants this year has been postponed

June 23, 2016

An information night for the region’s community groups to explain the different funding options open to them has been postponed.

The event was scheduled for June 30 at Kingaroy Town Hall.

The South Burnett Regional Council, Nanango’s Heritage Bank Community Branch and Stanwell Corporation were all going to give presentations about their existing community grants programs, including the eligibility requirements associated with each one.

The Burnett Inland Economic Development Organisation (BIEDO) had planned to give a presentation on obtaining grants from State and Federal Government agencies.

A Council spokesman gave no reason for the postponement and said a new date for the event has yet to be set.

In the meantime, the spokesman said, community groups seeking funding information were welcome to contact Kim Donohue at the Council by email.
