Repairs have begun to the Kingaroy Street footpath which was undermined last month when a water main burst.
The pavers in front of the Commonwealth and National Banks will be replaced with matching coloured concrete.
Construction work will include minor excavation and concrete works.
A South Burnett Regional Council spokesperson said that works would be staged to minimise disruption to the banks and parking.
The work is expected to take three weeks.
Provisions will be made to provide access to ATMs and local businesses that front onto Kingaroy Street, however some pedestrian access will need to be restricted at times during construction.
