The South Burnett Regional Council was scheduled to begin roadworks on Gladys Street, Blackbutt on Monday.
The project is expected to take about a month.
It will include the construction of a sealed road between Miller and Morris Streets, along with with kerbing and channelling.
Traffic will be detoured by signage during construction.
Private accesses for local residents may be affected for short periods, but Council staff will give residents prior notification when this occurs.
Any residents with concerns during the construction period should contact the onsite supervisor.
