South Burnett Regional Council is warning motorists of upcoming roadwork on two local roads that is scheduled to begin next week.

Work to rehabilitate a one kilometre stretch of Mt McEuen Road is scheduled to begin on January 27.

The project includes pavement rehabilitation of an existing seal of a section between Wondai Proston Road and Dip Road. Construction work will include earthworks, gravel pavement and bitumen sealing and is expected to be completed by early March.

During construction, traffic will still be able to use Mt McEuen Road but drivers may encounter some minor delays.

Council also plan to start work on the realignment of a sharp curve on Tingoora Chelmsford Road, west of the Tingoora Loop Road intersection, on January 27.

This work will include clearing and grubbing, earthworks, drainage, gravel pavement, bitumen seal, signage and linemarking, and should be completed by April.

Due to the nature of the work, and to provide a safe working environment, Council will be closing the Tingoora Chelmsford Road between the Tingoora Loop Road intersection and the Olsen’s Road intersection.

Alternate routes will be available and Boondooma Dam traffic will be able to travel via Wondai or use a signed detour.

Access to properties within the closed area will still be available to relevant traffic.

Local residents with concerns during the construction period should contact the on-site supervisor.
