The Local Government Remuneration and Discipline Tribunal has begun its annual review program to determine the remuneration to be paid to mayors, deputy mayors and councillors from July 1, 2016.
The tribunal will also be reviewing the categories of local governments in accordance with Section 243 of the Local Government Regulation 2012.
The tribunal has invited submissions in relation to remuneration to councillors and categories of local governments.
Submissions can be emailed to enquiries@lg.remunerationtribunal.qld.gov.au or mailed to Local Government Remuneration and Discipline Tribunal, PO Box 15009, City East, Qld, 4002.
The closing date for receipt of submissions is Friday, October 30.
There is an option for the councillors not to receive this money or hand it back.
