Toowoomba Regional Council will be hosting the Local Government Association of Queensland’s 119th Annual Conference next week.

The event will attract 600 delegates and support staff and will inject an estimated $1.3 million into the Toowoomba economy.

Toowoomba Mayor Paul Antonio said business tourism played a major role in the local economy.

“Our new corporate identity portrays the Toowoomba region as a modern, energetic, innovative and progressive place,” he said.

“(It’s) an attractive place to live and to do business, engage in tourism and invest for the future.

“This brand is about us (the region) putting our best foot forward and announcing to everyone that the Toowoomba Region is a really special place.

“We have people from all over the State at the Conference and this is a great way to start showing them what we can do.”
