“Christmas” will be the theme for the latest round of funding from the Mayor’s Community Benefit Fund announced on Friday.

South Burnett mayor Wayne Kratzmann said applications would open open for funding for organisations which actively provide support for the community at Christmas.

It is a special round for organisations which help needy people across the South Burnett during the festive season.

“Council invites South Burnett community organisations to apply under the Mayor’s Community Benefit Fund Round 6 for funding assistance towards projects which are intended to deliver services, activities and/or programs for the benefit of the region over the festive period,” Mayor Kratzmann said.

Applications for organisations which meet the criteria will open on October 1 and close on October 30.

The money in the Community Benefit Fund is raised at the Mayor’s charity breakfasts, the annual Gala Ball and charity golf days.

This year’s first Charity Golf Day, at Murgon Golf Club on September 11, raised $8500 for the fund.

Another golf day will be held at Kingaroy Golf Club on November 20.

Funding guidelines are available on Council’s website or via Council’s Customer Service Centres.
