North Burnett Regional Council CEO Mark Pitt will return to Australia for more medical treatment after he was seriously injured while on a family holiday in the United States.
Well wishes to Mr Pitt and his family have been flooding on to his Facebook wall after the news broke on December 8 about his accident.
Mr Pitt was struck by a car last week and suffered multiple injuries.
His wife Nicola wrote that Mark was “coming along well”.
“And while our arrival into Australia will mean more hospital stays (in all likelihood) we will be closer to family and friends. He will make a full recovery, but it will take time. We hope to have news of the medevac soon. Thanks to all for the love and best wishes. We appreciate your comments and concern,” she wrote.
Earlier, Mr Pitt had presented gifts from Australia when he attended a meeting of the Santa Clarita Rotary Club in California.
