The speed limit in all built-up areas in Queensland is 50km/h unless otherwise signposted

November 18, 2014

Kingaroy Police are reminding drivers that the default speed limit in built-up areas is 50 km/h, unless signposted otherwise.

Some roads do not have a signposted speed limit but these are usually part of a residential area where the default speed limit of 50 km/h applies.

If drivers do not see a sign in a built-up area, they should assume the speed limit is 50 km/h until they pass a sign indicating otherwise.

A police spokesman said Kingaroy motorists should take careful note that Fisher Street, as well as all of Alford Street including Alford Street East, are 50 km/h zones.
