A 55-year-old Tingoora man who allegedly refused to put down a large kitchen knife was tasered by police in an incident in Muller Street, Tingoora, this morning.

Police were called to a residence about 9:15am in relation to a domestic dispute.

A police spokesman said that as police arrived, a man came out of the house carrying a large kitchen knife and walked towards the police car.

Police ordered the man to drop the weapon, and when he allegedly failed to comply, they fired a taser.

The man was treated by ambulance officers for a small laceration to his throat and then taken to Murgon Watchhouse.

He appeared briefly in Murgon Court this afternoon and was remanded in custody to reappear tomorrow.
