Police from Taskforce Maxima – the  police group set up last year to target criminal motorcycle gangs – joined with Kingaroy and Nanango police on Friday to execute a search warrant in Parsons Road, Nanango.

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said a 34-year-old man had been charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs, two counts of possessing drug utensils and one charge of producing a dangerous drug.

Police would be alleging they located small amounts of amphetamines and cannabis at the premises.

A 43-year-old man has also been charged with failing to dispose of a syringe.

Police also raided a house in Chester Street, Nanango.

Snr Sgt Frank said a number of other items were seized.

Police investigations are continuing.

The Queensland road toll has reached 151 for the year with 25 deaths recorded during August alone, almost one a day.

Two of last month’s deaths occurred on South Burnett roads.

Police random breath tests are continuing to detect local drink drivers:

A 38-year-old Kingaroy man allegedly recorded 0.092 when he was tested on the Bunya Highway near Ivins Street in Kingaroy on Tuesday afternoon.

A 21-year-old man allegedly blew 0.090 when he was tested in Glendon Street, Kingaroy, on Saturday night.

Police investigating reports of a disturbance in Memorial Park on Friday night spoke to a group of youths.

A 17-year-old was searched and found to possess a small amount of cannabis. He has been ordered to attend a drug diversion program.

Two Kingaroy men, one aged 21 and the other 27, have been charged with stealing a wallet from a patron at a Kingaroy hotel on Saturday night .

A 33-year-old Kingaroy man was arrested at a residence in Gooyong Street, Kingaroy, on Saturday afternoon on a “return to prison” warrant for allegedly breaching his parole conditions.
