A mother, aged in her 20s, and a baby were taken to Kingaroy Hospital for assessment after a two-car pile-up on the corner of Fitzroy and Alfred streets, Nanango, this morning.

A QAS spokesperson said two elderly people in a second vehicle were assessed at the scene.

Ambulance, fire brigade and police attended the crash, which occurred about 9:45am.

Emergency workers cut a rear door off one of the vehicles to extract one of the occupants.

No further information is available.
