A man aged in his sixties has been airlifted to hospital by RACQ CareFlight Rescue with suspected head injuries and a broken leg after falling from a ladder.

An RACQ CareFlight spokesman said the man was chainsawing tree limbs from around his property home near Booie early this afternoon when he slipped and fell about 2.5 metres while trying to recover a severed tree branch.

He was treated on the scene by QAS, before being airlifed by the Toowoomba RACQ CareFlight crew to Toowoomba Base Hospital in a stable condition.
