A 26-year-old Brisbane man has been charged after he allegedly sped away from police in Kingaroy on Thursday night.

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said just before midnight police spotted two vehicles travelling together around Kingaroy streets.

Snr Sgt Frank said police pulled over one of the vehicles while the second car drove away.

However, while they were dealing with the first car, the second driver allegedly returned, driving in an extremely erratic manner.

“Police endeavoured to intercept the second car, but it failed to stop and sped off towards Nanango,” Snr Sgt Frank said.

“Police did not pursue.”

Nanango police later intercepted the vehicle, an old model Commodore.

The driver has been charged with unlicensed driving, evading police and possessing a knife. His vehicle was also seized for 90 days.

Three Kingaroy men have been charged after a fight outside a Kingaroy hotel on Friday night.

Snr Sgt Frank said police were called to the corner of Kingaroy and Alford streets about 10:00pm after reports of an altercation.

An 18-year-old has been charged with obstructing police and a 31-year-old has been charged with public nuisance.

A 21-year-old had been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm after an alleged altercation with a hotel staff member.

At 2:00am on Saturday morning, Kingaroy police breath-tested a driver in Arthur Street, Kingaroy.

The 30-year-old Toogoolawah man allegedly recorded .103, more than twice the legal limit.

Snr Sgt Frank said the police and ambulance were called to the Kingaroy RSL car park about 10:00pm on Saturday night after a dispute broke out between family members.

He said family members were trying to encourage a 34-year-old man, who was extremely intoxicated, into a car so he could be taken home but he became aggressive.

During the dispute, a woman was injured in a fall.

The man was arrested and charged with causing a public nuisance.

At 9:00pm on Sunday night, police were called to Youngman Street, outside the Kingaroy Showgrounds, after reports of an altercation between the driver of a car and other people.

Police have charged a 24-year-old man with public nuisance, drink driving and possessing dangerous drugs.

He allegedly blew 0.14 BAC and police say a search of his car allegedly revealed a small amount of cannabis.
