A 58-year-old Memerambi man has died in a two-vehicle traffic crash at Woodford this morning.

A police spokesman said initial information suggested a car and a 4WD collided head-on at 7:40am on the D’Aguilar Highway, 400m west of the Kilcoy-Beerwah Road intersection.

The Memerambi man, the sole occupant of the car, died at the scene.

A 50-year-old Wurtulla woman, the driver and sole occupant of the 4WD, was taken to Nambour General Hospital by the RACQ CareFlight helicopter in a stable condition.

The woman suffered relatively minor injuries, managing to walk away from the crash.

“The woman’s airbags deployed on impact which definitely minimised her injuries,” RACQ CareFlight Aircrew Officer Scott Reeman said.

“She was able to get herself out of the vehicle and walk away. The airbags definitely helped her survival.”

Both lanes of the D’Aguilar Highway were closed for several hours after the incident.

The Police Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
