Kingaroy has some of the lowest weekly rental costs for units and houses in Queensland.
June quarter data released by the Residential Tenancies Authority show the average rental cost for a four-bedroom house in Kingaroy is $300, down from $315 last year and $320 in 2011.
In comparison, a tenant in a similar property in Roma would be paying $600 a week, however this is actually down $200 for the median rent of $800 last year.
Other median weekly costs in Kingaroy are:
- One-bedroom flats – $120
- Two-bedroom flats – $190
- Three-bedroom flats – $250
- Two-bedroom houses – $210
- Three-bedroom houses – $250
However, the RTA cautioned that the relatively small number of bond lodgments for properties in Kingaroy made median rent values less reliable.
In Brisbane, the median rental cost for a four-bedroom house varies between $440 and $750 a week, depending upon location.
NB. Other South Burnett towns were not included in the RTA tables for comparison.
