Police investigations are continuing into the death of a 43-year-old man in Kingaroy in the early hours of Friday morning.

The eastern end of Alford Street East and the southern end of Fisher Street remained closed to traffic today as police forensic experts worked at the scene.

Evidence markers picked out a trail along Alford Street to where the man’s body had been found, near a bush on the corner of the two streets.

News Limited media outlets were reporting today that police were speaking to a “leading NRL player manager” in regards to a scuffle which allegedly occurred in a Kingaroy hotel earlier in the evening.

The Courier-Mail has named a Sydney sports agent and reported that police have been given CCTV footage by the hotel.

However police media have refused to comment on an ongoing investigation except to say police were following all lines of inquiry.

There are a large number of senior rugby league officials and scouts visiting Kingaroy at present because of the U18s schoolboys championship underway at T.J. O’Neill Oval.
