Fire crews could not save a house which burned to the ground in Brownless Road, West Boondooma, this afternoon.

An Emergency Services spokesman said firefighters received a call about 1:10pm however the building was in a remote location and was fully engulfed when they arrived.

Power lines were also down which hindered some access to the property.

No one was at home at the time.

Both rural and urban brigades attended the blaze.

No one was injured, but a man and his young daughter have been left homeless.

Durong Girl Guides have launched an appeal for items to assist the family; contact Leeann on (07) 4168-0273.
