Twelve local organisations will be sharing a total of $221,404.63 from the latest rounds of the State Government’s Gambling Community Benefit Fund and Jupiters Casino Community Benefit Fund.

The successful applicants were:

  • Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council – purchase and install 5kW solar system – $14,916
  • Cherbourg Historical Precinct Group Inc – purchase audio visual and IT equipment – $17,036
  • Freshwater Fishing and Stocking Assoc – purchase tradesman’s pod – $10,000
  • Goomeri and District Pony Club – purchase showjumping equipment – $32,420
  • Kingaroy Senior Soccer Club – install fencing and upgrade solar system – $19,016
  • Nanango Educational Toy Library – purchase toys for the library – $2950
  • Rotary Club of Murgon – conduct Murgon Music Muster (November 2012) – $15,700
  • South Burnett Junior Rugby League – purchase whitegoods, IT and office equipment – $3560
  • South Burnett Job Match – purchase tools and install shade – $35,793.63
  • South Burnett Western Performance Club – construct disability ramp and wash bays – $24,619
  • Yarraman & District Community Kindergarten – upgrade to stairs and ramp – $13,636
  • Yarraman Bowls Club – install retractable shade – $31,818

“Groups such as these are the lifeblood of our community and it is great to be able to support them financially,” Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington said.

“The grants are designed for approved not-for-profit organisations to help provide services or programs which benefit the community and are not intended to replace existing sources of support for these organisations.”

Funding under these grant programs is allocated quarterly.

The majority of Queensland not-for-profit community organisations are eligible to apply, either in their own right (if incorporated) or through a sponsor (if not incorporated).
