South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Murgon Music Muster
The fourth day of the annual 6-day Murgon Music Muster will get underway at the Murgon PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon today with a bush poet's breakfast from 7:30am to 9:00am, followed by walk-up artists and bush poets until 11:00am. After this, the Muster's official opening will occur in the afternoon and this will be followed by some of this year's professional country music performers who'll play on stage until late tonight. There'll also be a licensed bar and canteen operating on site, and camping sites ($13 per person per night for powered sites or $10 pp/pn for unpowered sites) are available if you want to stay over. Entry fees for this year's Muster are $80 for a 4-day pass covering Thursday to Sunday or $35 today. Art Exhibition Opening - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery in Haly Street, Kingaroy (opposite the peanut silos) will be holding a wine and cheese opening for its November exhibition at 5:30pm tonight. This month's feature exhibition is "A Thousand Words", the annual Jumping Ant Arts members' exhibition featuring works by 12 well-known South Burnett artists plus a mixed media exhibition by award-winning Brisbane artist Noel Miller (see image at right). After tonight's opening, both of these exhibitions will remain on display from 10:00am to 4:00pm weekdays and 9:00am to 1:00pm on weekends until November 22. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.
Art Exhibition Opening - Wondai
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai will be opening their latest monthly exhibition for 2023 with a wine and cheese tasting at 6:00pm tonight. This month the gallery will be hosting “From The Lathe, To Lens, To Pencil, To Brush” - a combined exhibition by artists Ann-Maree Harrison, Dwayne Howlett and Alice and Tahnie Hauritz - covering a wide range of media across all three of its principal; galleries, while students from Murgon Kindy display their works in Kidz Korner. As usual, opening night will also feature great hot and cold finger foods and punch, along with wine tastings from a South Burnett winery, live entertainment and lots of fun socialising. Kingaroy RSL Bingo

Friday Social Golf - Proston
The Proston Golf Club on Brigooda Road, Proston will be holding a Friday afternoon social golf game today. Names need to be in by 2:00pm for a 2:30pm tee-off, and everyone is welcome. Kingaroy's Cuppa and Chat Group will be holding its weekly meeting at The Biscuit Tin behind St Mary's Church at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy from 10:00am to around 11:00am today. Friday Night At The Shed - Nanango
The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott Car Park) will be open from 7:00pm until late tonight for local musicians and anyone else who enjoys music to come along, bring their instruments and jam in a relaxed and informal setting, or just sit on the Shed's lounges, listen in and enjoy the wide variety of talent on offer. Halloween Disco - Maidenwell
A Halloween Disco for students from the Tanduringie and Cooyar State Schools will be held at Maidenwell Hall in Pool Street, Maidenwell from 5:00pm to 7:30pm this evening. The disco will offer prizes for the best Halloween costumes and there'll also be a BBQ sausage sizzle and food and drinks for sale. Entry fees are $2 per person and all local students and parents are welcome.
Line Dancing - Yarraman

Deep & Shallow - Nanango
The Nanango Theatre Company will be hosting two plays at their playhouse at the corner of Elk and George Streets, Nanango from 7:00pm to 9:00pm tonight: Deep, a multi award-winning drama, and Shallow - a zombie apocalypse comedy. Tickets are $25 for adults or $20 for concessions and they can be booked online. Note: A second matinee performance of both plays will be held at the same venue from 2:00pm to 4:00pm tomorrow.

Alcoholics Anonymous - Murgon
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. AA isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution. AA meets in Murgon every Wednesday and Friday at 12:30pm at the Baptist Church at 94 MacAlister Street, and members who can't make it in person can join in the meeting online via Zoom. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 1A (Lot 3) Railway Terrace in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
