Chad Morgan Show - Kumbia

Legendary country comic Chad Morgan will be bringing his Chad Morgan Show to Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, Kumbia at 2:00pm this afternoon. The event is being run by Kumbia's QCWA and it promises to be a riot of fun. Tickets - which include a great Kumbia QCWA afternoon tea - are $25 per head and a licensed bar will be operating as well. However - to help plan the catering and seating - bookings are essential. You can obtain tickets at Kingaroy Office Central at 163 Haly Street in Kingaroy or by phoning 0475-623-341.
Timbertowns Woodworkers - Blackbutt
The Timbertowns Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Sunday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:30am until around 12:00 noon today. Nanango Panthers Kick-Around
The Nanango Panthers are keen to field a men's soccer team in the region's 2024 competition, and they'll be holding a kick-around at the Alan Downey Sports Fields in Burnett Street, Nanango at 4:00pm this afternoon - followed by a BBQ at around 5:15pm - to talk to potentially interested players. The Panthers were the region's leading soccer side for many years and are keen to regain their crown. FIFO and shift workers are also welcome along this afternoon, and so are people who'd just like to play in the annual Soccer 7's Carnival next February. Bunya Mountains Markets
The monthly Bunya Mountains Markets will be running at Dandabah in the Bunya Mountains today. The markets feature up to 30 stands selling quality, locally-produced fresh produce, arts and crafts and they'll be operating from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Local cafes like Poppies On The Hill and The Bunya Mountains Cafe will be offering special Market Day menus and morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas, and walking trail maps will be available from both cafes, the Bunya Mountains General Store and market stalls if you'd like to take a walk through the adjoining National Park. Sunday Afternoon Poker - Kingaroy
Sunday afternoon poker games will be played at Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy today. Registrations start at 2:00pm and play begins at 2:30pm. All games are free to play and there are prizes for first, second and third. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755.
Hivesville Country Markets
The monthly Hivesville Country Markets will be held at Memorial Park (opposite the Hivesville Hotel) from 7:00am to around noon this morning. These family-friendly markets are held on the 4th Sunday of every month and feature a variety of stalls including fresh local farm produce, plants, crafts and lots of food. New stallholders are very welcome, too!
Hivesville Devonshire Teas
Hivesville's QCWA are celebrating their centenary this year, and the branch will be opening the doors at their rooms in Main Street from 7:00am to noon this morning to offer visitors Devonshire Teas and boutique-style coffee plus plants, crafts and general bric-a-brac items - the perfect complement to the Hivesville Markets just across the road. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a delicious morning tea and/or browse for a bargain.
Open Mic Afternoon - Nanango
The Commercial Hotel in Drayton Street, Nanango will be hosting an Open Mic Afternoon from 2:00pm to around 6:00pm today, led by Mr Q (ie Tony Cisneros). Line Dancing Social - Wooroolin
A Line Dancing Social will be held at Wooroolin Hall on the Bunya Highway, Wooroolin from 10:00am to 4:00pm today. Songs Of The Season - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Chorale will be presenting the second performance of their annual Christmas Concert - which is called "Songs Of The Season" this year - at the Church Of Christ at 254 Haly Street, Kingaroy from 4:00pm to around 5:30pm this afternoon. The Chorale will be presenting beautiful songs from all over the planet, ranging from traditional to the modern day, and tickets - which include afternoon tea - are just $15. Tickets can be booked online and everyone is welcome.
Kumbia Museum
The Kumbia and District Historical Society's museum, located in the Federation Heritage Centre behind Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, will be open from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon. Open Fours Bowls Carnival - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Bowls Club at 141 Youngman Street in Kingaroy will be running the second (and final) day of their annual Open Fours Bowls Carnival today. This fun team event offers a whopping $5000 in prize monies (spread between first to seventh place-getters) and free unpowered campsites on the grounds for visitors. Today, there'll be two rounds that will kick off with a breakfast at 7:00am before play begins at 8:30am, and concluding with a prize-giving ceremony and an afternoon tea around 1:30pm. Registration fees are $300 per team and include morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea on Saturday and breakfast and an afternoon high tea on Sunday. Everyone is welcome! More details?
