The annual South Burnett Careers Market is on again next week, but it’s not just for schoolkids.

There’ll be 35 exhibitors, plus try-a-trade activities, at the TAFE Queensland South West campus in Kingaroy from 9:00am to 4:00pm next Tuesday (August 5).

Organiser Tam Geritz is encouraging people of all ages to drop by during the day, promising it will offer something for everyone, regardless of their age.

“We have everyone from the Defence Force, the Darling Downs Health Service, right through to South Burnett Child Care Centre attending,” she said.

“All 35 exhibitors will be there to speak with people about their careers and services they offer. Whatever stage of life you’re in, there will be something here for you.”

TAFE teachers will be running try-a-trade activities on the day to introduce people to new careers they might not yet have considered, from welding through to children’s services (a nappy change challenge!) and rural skills.

Visitors will also be able to view TAFE’s new student hub which has new computers, wi-fi, a kitchenette and a quiet study space for students to use throughout the week.

A sausage sizzle lunch will be available with proceeds going to the Kingaroy Rotary Club.
