Antfest 2025 - Kingaroy
Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery in Haly Street, Kingaroy, (opposite the peanut silos) is hosting the official opening of "Antfest 2025 - HOME" from 5:00pm to around 7:00pm this evening. Antfest is the annual exhibition of works by members of the Jumping Ant Arts collective. This year, the 12 artists are exploring the concept of "home" ie. peace, place, identity, acceptance, belonging, connection, landscape, spirit and sanctuary. Guest speaker will be Marietta Wetzig, from the South Burnett Support Alliance. Jumping Ant Arts will be raising funds during May to support the Alliance. Everyone is welcome to attend opening night and there's no entry fee! Refreshments will be provided. Works will remain on display until May 29.
Blackbutt History Morning
- The Blackbutt and District Tourism and Heritage Association will be holding a History Morning from 9:30am today at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall in Bowman Road. Yarraman Wildhorse Campdraft
The three-day Yarraman Wildhorse Campdraft will get under way at 11:30am today at the Yarraman Showgrounds on the New England Highway with rounds of the Open Draft, followed by the Open Final. A bar and a canteen will be running all weekend. Camping is available on site (only unpowered sites). Entry for spectators is free, and everyone is welcome!
Musical Afternoon - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Senior Citizens Club will be hosting a musical afternoon at the Town Common Hall in Oliver Bond Street, Kingaroy, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm today featuring Robert Grant on piano accordion and vocals. Kilkivan Campdraft
The Kilkivan Show and Campdraft Association will be running the annual Kilkivan Campdraft this weekend at Kilkivan Showgrounds in Mudlo Road. Today's action will kick off at 2:00pm with an Encouragement Draft followed by a Restricted Open Draft under lights (restricted to Open and Novice horses). There'll also be a bar in operation and hot meals available on site, as well as camp sites if you want to stay over. Admission is free for spectators and everyone is welcome.

Friday Night At The (New) Shed
- Well, the weekly get-together has temporarily moved to the Masonic Lodge in Gipps Street as The Shed is currently off-limits! South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 1A (Lot 3) Railway Terrace in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). Alcoholics Anonymous - Murgon
