2025 Kingaroy Show

The first day of the two-day 2025 Kingaroy Show will be held at Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street from 8:00am until late tonight. In addition to the usual big range of horse, cattle and equestrian events, this year's Show will also feature Tractor Pulls; a Farmers' Challenge competition in the centre ring; a ute and truck show; vintage machinery; poultry; specialty food vans and a whole lot more! There'll also be the largest sideshow alley in the region. The Show's official opening will occur in the main ring at 1:30pm and this will be followed by the Grand Parade at 2:00pm. There'll also be a giant fireworks display about 7:00pm that will light up the night sky. Tonight's Bull Ride will get under way at 6:00pm. And don't forget, the Kingaroy Speedway will be on Sunday night from 5:00pm! Single day tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for age pensioners and high school students (under 12s can get in for free if accompanied by a paying adult). Rugby League - Blackbutt
Blackbutt Timbertowners will be hosting today's South Burnett junior rugby league games at Bunny Pearce Oval, 24 Railway Street, Blackbutt. Games for Under 6s through to Under 12s will begin at 8:00am with the last game kicking off at 4:15pm. There'll also be two Under 14s games. At 10:30am, Kingaroy will take on Murgon, while at 11:30am, Chinchilla will play Nanango. At 12:30pm, the South Burnett Eagles Under 19s will be in action against Gatton. There'll be hot food and cold drinks for sale at the canteen. NB. All SBRL A Grade teams have a bye this weekend due to the Magic Round in Brisbane!
Ringsfield House Open Day - Nanango
Historic Ringsfield House, 41-45 Alfred Street, Nanango, is hosting an Open Day today! Local artists will be featured in the art gallery from 9:00am to 12:30pm, plus tea and scones will be available on the verandah for $10.00 per person from 9:00am to 11:00am.
Nanango Country Markets
The Nanango Show Society will be holding their regular monthly Country Markets at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 6:00am to around 12:00 noon today. As usual, the markets will feature a wide variety of craft stalls, new and used goods, plants, poultry and pets, but they'll be operating in a COVID Safe way. The Nanango Markets are the largest rural market in south east Queensland and attract up to 420 stallholders. But new stallholders are always very welcome too! More info? Pete Black - Linville
Entertainer Pete Black will be performing at the Linville Hotel in George Street, Linville from 4:00pm until late tonight. The hotel's kitchen will also be operating from 11:00am for lunch, dinner and snacks and there's free camping across the road or paid accommodation at the pub if you want to stay overnight. Pig On The Spit Night - Wooroolin
The Grand Hotel on the Bunya Highway at Wooroolin will be holding their monthly Pig On A Spit Night from 5:30pm until late this evening. Apart from a great roast pork meal there'll also be a Lucky Door prize, raffles and entertainment. Tickets are $32.50 for adults, $21 for pensioners, $16 for high school students and $10 for primary school children (U5s are free). Murgon RSL Sub-Branch Meeting

Proston Khanacross
Proston Car Rally Club will be holding Day 1 of their weekend-long Proston Khanacross at their race track today (the club's track is located 7.5km west of Proston at 757 Proston-Boondooma Road). Racing will start at 9:30am and wrap up towards nightfall, when there'll also be a burnout competition from 6:00pm. Competitors come from all over Queensland and spectators are very welcome. There'll also be a food van on site and a licensed bar will open after racing finishes for the day. Showers are available with free camping. Admission for spectators is free and everyone is welcome! Saturday Library Day - Maidenwell
The volunteers from the Maidenwell QCWA will be supervising the regular weekly Saturday Library Day (featuring books loaned from Kingaroy Library) from 2:00pm to 4:00pm this afternoon. A library day is held in the Maidenwell Hall in Pool Street every Wednesday and Saturday.
MAY'kn Music - Goomeri
The Goomeri Bush Camp, at 5939 Wide Bay Highway, will be hosting a three-day music and camping festival building on the success of last year's Beats & Boots at the same venue. Saturday Night Bingo - Kingaroy

Widgee Bushman's Carnival
The first day of the two-day Widgee Campdraft will get under way at the Widgee Campdraft Grounds near Widgee Hall at 7:00am this morning with a Maiden Draft, followed by heats of the Fabian & Tanda Webb Memorial Novice Draft. A bar and canteen will be running on site all day, admission is free for spectators and everyone is welcome! There'll be live music this evening with Andrew Copland and camping is available on-site.
Nanango Men's Shed
The Nanango Men's Shed at the corner of Mt Stanley Road and Heathermore Lane, Nanango, will be open from 8:30am to around noon today for its regular Saturday get-together.
