South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Goomeri Pumpkin Festival
The main day of the annual Goomeri Pumpkin Festival will begin about 9:00am this morning with the Pumpkin Olympics. As usual, the Pumpkin Festival will feature a wide range of market and novelty stalls; all-day live entertainment; roving entertainers, Giant Pumpkin and Best Decorated Pumpkin competitions; a big Street Parade at 10:15am and the Great Australian Pumpkin Roll down Policeman's Hill around 2:00pm with cash prizes. Joy flights on board a helicopter can also be booked! The annual Pumpkin Festival is great fun for all the family and admission is 100% free. You can find out more on the Pumpkin Festival's website.
Perfectly Imperfect - Kingaroy
Kingaroy-based vocalist Julee-Anne Bell and Melissa Buchholz will be bringing their touring show "Perfectly Imperfect" to the Kingaroy Town Hall from 2:00pm this afternoon in a special show. The musical event combines songs with stories of life and love and laughter. The show comes to Kingaroy after performances at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, Brisbane, the Gold Coast as well as in the Central Burnett and rural NSW. Tickets can be booked online
Kilkivan Community Garden & Railway Markets
The monthly Kilkivan Community Garden & Railway Markets - held on the last Sunday of the month (February to November) are on again from 7:00am this morning at 2a Bligh Street (opposite the hotel. For more information, or to book a stall, phone Deborah on 0448-749-727.
Bunya Mountains Markets
The Bunya Mountains Markets, held on the last Sunday of every month, will be running at Dandabah in the Bunya Mountains today. The markets feature up to 30 stands selling quality, locally produced fresh produce, arts and crafts and they'll be operating from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Local cafés like Poppies On The Hill and The Bunya Mountains Café will be offering special Market Day menus and morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas. Walking trail maps will be available from both cafés, the Bunya Mountains General Store and market stalls if you'd like to take a stroll through the adjoining National Park. More details? Bookfest - Yarraman
Yarraman's Heritage Centre, at 26 Millar Street, will be holding a Bookfest from 10:00am to 3:00pm today. There'll be novels, children's books, reference books and much more!
Community Pickleball - Woolooga
Woolooga Community Hall is hosting community pickleball every Sunday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the hall at 8 Thomas Street, Woolooga. Everyone is welcome to come along, including beginners. All equipment is provided at the court, so just bring water!
Kumbia Museum
The Kumbia and District Historical Society's museum, located in the Federation Heritage Centre behind Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, will be open from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon. Hivesville Country Markets
The monthly Hivesville Country Markets will be held at Memorial Park (opposite the Hivesville Hotel in Main Street) from 7:00am to around noon this morning. These family-friendly markets are held on the 4th Sunday of every month (except December) and feature a variety of stalls including fresh local farm produce, plants, crafts and lots of food. New stallholders are very welcome, too!
Hivesville Devonshire Teas
Hivesville's QCWA will be opening the doors at their rooms in Main Street from 7:00am to noon this morning to offer visitors Devonshire Teas and boutique-style coffee plus plants, crafts and general bric-a-brac items - the perfect complement to the Hivesville Markets just across the road. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a delicious morning tea and/or browse for a bargain.
CoolLula Trio - Goomeri
As part of the Pumpkin Festival weekend in Goomeri, the CoolLula Trio will be playing live music at the Goomeri Hotel from noon to 4:00pm this afternoon.

First Aid Information - Kumbia
The Kumbia Disaster Resilience Future Ready Project will be hosting a free 90-minute First Aid information session from 1:00pm this afternoon at the Kumbia Memorial Hall in Bell Street. The session will be led by Kingaroy First Aid.
Free Sunday Lunch - Kingaroy
A free community lunch is available every Sunday from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at The Old Railway Station building, O'Neill Square, in Kingaroy. The Community Serving Community Meals Project is co-ordinated by the South Burnett Support Alliance and relies on volunteers from the local community.
