Music and Memories Concert - KingaroyThe South Burnett Community Orchestra is presenting a special Music And Memories concert at Kingaroy Town Hall this evening to celebrate the orchestra's 20 years of music, memories, and community. The anniversary concert will showcase a selection of the orchestra's repertoire from the past two decades, highlighting the journey and growth of the SBCO. Doors open at 6:30pm with the concert starting at 7:00pm. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for concession/student or $50 for family passes (2 adults plus kids). Tickets can be booked online
Nanango Country Markets
The Nanango Show Society will be holding their regular monthly Country Markets at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 6:00am to 11:30am today. As usual, the markets will feature a wide variety of craft stalls, new and used goods, plants, poultry and pets. The Nanango Markets are the largest rural market in south east Queensland and attract up to 420 stallholders. But new stallholders are always very welcome too! More info? Ringsfield House Open Day - Nanango
- Historic Ringsfield House, 41-45 Alfred Street, Nanango, is hosting an Open Day today! Local artists will be featured in the art gallery from 9:00am to noon, plus tea and scones will be available on the verandah for $12.00 per person from 9:00am to 11:00am. (As a bonus, visitors can also pop on down to the Energy Museum in Henry Street where the historic Nanango Butter Factory diesel motor will be fired up this morning or drop in to inspect the former Masonic Lodge in Gipps Street which will also be open for inspection!)
Book Launch - Kingaroy
Author Liz Caffery will be launching a biography of well-known former Kingaroy and Wondai resident Jim Burns at 2:00pm this afternoon in the St Mary’s Catholic Church Hall, 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy. Jim, who was left a paraplegic after catching polio as a child, was well-known for his music shop in Kingaroy Street, his concerts, his bands and his music lessons. The guest speaker this afternoon will be another well-known Kingaroy resident and musician, Moya Hayden. Light refreshments will be served after the book launch. Public Consultation - Proston
- South Burnett Regional Council has invited the Proston community to have a say about the location for the newly refurbished railway trolley. Council has three options for future placement of the restored trolley and all suggestions and feedback are welcome. The consultation session will start at 9:30am today at Railway Park in front of the old Railway Building. Mayor Kathy Duff, Cr Heath Sander, and a Council Parks representative will be in attendance. A Murder Is Announced - Nanango
The Nanango Theatre Company is presenting a (very) limited run of Agatha Christie's whodunit "A Murder Is Announced" this weekend at their playhouse on the corner of Elk and George streets, Nanango. An advertisement appears in a local newspaper, residents gather ... then shots ring out! Tickets are $25 (or $20 concession) and can be booked online. This afternoon's production will start at 2:00pm and there'll also be an 11:00am matinee tomorrow.
The Pirates Of Penzance - Auditions
