Singer Songwriters Showcase - Maidenwell
Dreambird Cottage Dining and Functions - a new cafe and restaurant operating at 88 Beare Road, Maidenwell - will be hosting the first of a planned series of live music events from 5:00pm tonight. Dreambird aims to showcase singer-songwriters and tonight's event will feature Lloyd Back, Glenn Jones, Leila May and Dreambird's own Debbie Grace. Cost is $15 per adult and $5 for children. Beare Road was formerly known as Brooklands-Pimpimbudgee Road (South) and is still marked on Google maps as Pimpimbudgee Road.
Kingaroy Speedway Autumn Spectacular
Speedway racing returns to the South Burnett tonight with the Autumn Spectacular at the Kingaroy Speedway track (located inside Kingaroy Showgrounds). Gates open at 2:00pm with racing from 5:00pm. Events will include Super Sedans, Street Stocks, Junior Sedans, Modifieds and Wingless Sprints. Admission is $25 for adults, $15 for students (with ID) and aged or disability pensioners; or $65 for a family of two adults and up to three students (children 12 and under are free). Everyone is welcome!
Nanango Parkrun
The Nanango parkrun group will be holding its weekly 5km timed walk/run along the Ros Gregor Trail at Tipperary Flat next to the D'Aguilar Highway south of Nanango at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the trail and the parkrun group is free to join. All you need to do is register (once) online at parkrun.com.au and bring the printed barcode to any parkrun event.
Nanango Country Markets
The Nanango Show Society will be holding their regular monthly Country Markets at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 6:00am to around 12:00 noon today. As usual, the markets will feature a wide variety of craft stalls, new and used goods, plants, poultry and pets, but they'll be operating in a COVID Safe way. The Nanango Markets are the largest rural market in south east Queensland and attract up to 420 stallholders. But new stallholders are always very welcome too! More info? Wondai Parkrun
The Wondai parkrun group will be holding their weekly 5km timed runs at Coronation Park in Wondai at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the South Burnett Rail Trail and the parkrun group is free to join. Come & Try Junior Motorcycle Speedway - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Junior Motorcycle Speedway Club will be holding a Come & Try day on the main oval of Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 9:00am today. Twilight Market - Goomeri
Goomeri will be holding another Twilight market with gourmet food trucks and entertainment in Goomeri's Market Square from 5:00pm to around 9:00pm this evening. All welcome and there's no entry cost.
Seeds Of Hope Bingo - Kingaroy
Bingo games will be held near the caravan park entrance at Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy at 7:00pm this evening (doors open at 6:00pm). The games help raise funds for local community groups and in addition to great bingo prizes there'll also be chips, lollies, drinks and other snacks on sale. Everyone is welcome! More details? Dance - Inverlaw Hall
The popular monthly Inverlaw Dance will be held at Inverlaw Hall on the Burrandowan Road (roughly 20km from Kingaroy) from 8:00pm until late tonight. Music will be supplied by Diamonds and there'll be the usual great supper and novelties, along with a Lucky Door. Yarraman Men's Shed

Yarraman Markets
The Yarraman Progress Association's Yarraman Markets will be held on the vacant block at the corner of the D'Aguilar and New England Highways (ie opposite Bendigo Bank) in Yarraman from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon today. The markets feature trash and treasure stalls, car boot sellers, local produce and hand-made goods, as well as food stalls, and are held weekly. Everyone is welcome and if you'd like to book a stall yourself - it's only $5! - call Joe on (0459) 638-282. Note: All patrons and stallholders are asked to observe proper social distancing to stay safe.
QCWA Meeting - Murgon
Murgon QCWA will be meeting from 1:00pm today at the QCWA building in Macalister Street, Murgon. New members from Murgon and surrounding areas are invited to come along and find out more about the many different activities branch members get up to!
MisFitz - Kingaroy

Murgon Men's Shed
The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the shed next to the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.
Saturday Cricket
The South Burnett's 2020-21 cricket season is now moving towards its end and two of the three grades (Senior and Junior) will be holding matches in Kingaroy, Nanango, Murgon and Kumbia today. In Junior cricket, Stage 1 games between Kingaroy and Nanango will be held at the park in upper River Road, Kingaroy; in Stage 2, Kingaroy Northern Agriservices will play Nanango at Taabinga State School; and in Stage 3, Nanango will play Murgon at the Nanango Sportsgrounds in Burnett Street (all junior games start at 8:00am). In Senior cricket, Kumbia Rattlers will play Wondai Wolves at the Kumbia Cricket Grounds in Gordon Street in a minor semi-final; and Murgon Diggers will play Nanango Scorpions in a major semi-final at the Murgon Showgrounds in Macalister Street (both matches start at 12:30pm). And finally - in A-Grade - Wooroolin Warriors will play West Gympie and Murgon Crusaders will play Gympie Valleys, both at Gympie and both starting at 12:30pm. Spectators are very welcome!
Proston Men's Shed
The Proston Men's Shed will be meeting at the old railway station building at Railway Park in Rodney Street, Proston for its regular Saturday morning get-together today, kicking off with a cuppa at 8:00am.
