Proston Show
The main day of the 63rd annual Proston Show will be held at Proston Showgrounds on the Proston-Boondooma Road just west of town from 8:00am this morning through until late tonight. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this year's Show will have a slightly different format without the usual horse events, chainsaw racing, woodchops or the much-loved Ute Muster, and all guests will need to either scan a QR code or complete a COVID entry form at the gate. Despite these small hiccups, however, the core of this popular event will remain the same with a Championship Dog Show at 8:30am; prime cattle, stud cattle and poultry judging from 9:00am; the official opening at 2:00pm and the Grand Parade at 2:30pm. Other attractions to look out for are Viv’s Farm Animals and extensive pavilion displays in a wide range of categories. The Show's canteen and bar will be running all day, too. 2021 admission prices remain at $10 for adults, $5 for high school students and $3 for primary school students (under fives are free) and a family pass for two adults and two or more children is also available for $25.
Yarraman Horse Ride
The annual 25km Yarraman Horse Ride will depart from the Yarraman Showgrounds on the New England Highway at 8:00am this morning for a guided ride around the Yarraman district. Riders need to BYO horse(s) and tack, and because this year's ride is limited to 150 riders, pre-booking a place (at $40 per adult, $25 per child or $110 for a family of four) is essential. The Ride will be preceded by a pre-ride talk at 7:00am, and a BBQ lunch and drinks will be on sale during the ride. Tonight there'll also be a $25 per person spit roast dinner available at the Showgrounds, along with a bar and live music. Free on-site camping is available on Friday and Saturday nights for riders and spectators who want to camp over. More details? Phone Sharyn on 0429-042-575.
Mamma Mia - Kingaroy

Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students and concessions, and they can be booked online or obtained at the door if not already sold out. Note: Five further performances will be held at the same venue tomorrow at 1:00pm; next Friday at 7:00pm; next Saturday at 1:00pm and 7:00pm; and a final show next Sunday at 1:00pm.
