South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Kingaroy RSL Bingo

Cuppa And Chat Group
Kingaroy's Cuppa and Chat Group will be holding its weekly meeting at The Biscuit Tin behind St Mary's Church at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy from 10:00am to around 11:00am today. As the name suggests, members enjoy a cuppa and biscuits baked in the community kitchen, and simply chat about whatever interests them. More details? Mamma Mia - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Musical Comedy Society will be presenting their third performance of the Abba musical comedy "Mamma Mia" at the Kingaroy Performing Arts Centre at the end of Markwell Street, Kingaroy at 7:00pm tonight. The show features all the Swedish group’s hit songs wound together into a romantic comedy written by British playwright Catherine Johnson, and has been a long-running favourite on both Broadway and London's West End. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students and concessions, and they can be booked online or obtained at the door if not already sold out. Note: Three further performances will be held at the same venue tomorrow at 1:00pm and 7:00pm; and a final matinee show on Sunday at 1:00pm.
Maidenwell Folk Gathering
The first day of the twice-a-year Maidenwell Folk Gathering will be held in and around the historic Maidenwell Hotel in Maidenwell today, kicking off at around 1:00pm and running late into the night. This is an all-acoustic event and a variety of performers will be entertaining on the hotel's balconies and inside rooms. Admission to the Folk Gathering is completely free and musicians are welcome as well as people who just like to listen to music. There's also free overnight camping available in the hotel's grounds. Women In Agriculture - Wondai
POSTPONED BIEDO will be holding another of their popular Women In Agriculture Days at Wondai's Memorial Hall at the corner of Scott and Mackenzie Streets from 9:30am to 3:00pm today. As usual, there'll be a great line-up of guest speakers, trade stands, raffles and lucky door prizes but due to COVID restrictions, entry to this $16.50 per head event is by ticket only and seating is limited. Friday Social Golf - Proston
The Proston Golf Club on Brigooda Road, Proston will be holding a Friday afternoon social golf game today. Names need to be in by 2:00pm for a 2:30pm tee-off, and everyone is welcome. Ash Williamson - Proston
Country entertainer Ash Williamson will be performing at the Golden Spurs Hotel at the corner of Blake and Rodney Streets, Proston from 6:00pm until late tonight in honour of this year's bumper Golden Spurs Campdraft (which starts at the showgrounds today and runs through to Sunday afternoon). 2021 Murgon Show
The first day of the annual Murgon Show will get underway at the Murgon Showgrounds in Macalister Street at around 4:00pm this afternoon. Today's activities will largely be confined to judging pavilion entries (the Show's main public day is tomorrow) and this year - due to COVID restrictions - it will be operating in a slightly reduced format, with the popular rodeo that usually forms part of the Show being postponed until later this year. However, Young Judges and Young Paraders competitions, horse and cattle events and a big poultry showing will run as normal. Everyone is welcome!
Tucker & Chop Plus DJdirex - Kingaroy
Popular South Burnett duo Tucker & Chop will be performing at the Commercial Hotel at the corner of Glendon and Haly Streets, Kingaroy from 7:30pm until around 10:00pm tonight, followed by DJdirex who'll be spinning the platters in The Nest until late. Tanduringie SS Talent Show
Tanduringie State School students will be performing a variety of entertainment for the public from 5:00pm tonight at the school in Tanduringie School Road, south of Maidenwell. Everyone is welcome but must sign in on entry and obey the COVID Plan. Cost is $2 which includes entry into a lucky door prize.
Proston Golden Spurs Campdraft
POSTPONED: The first day of the three day Proston Golden Spurs Campdraft will kick off at the Proston Showgrounds on the Proston-Boondooma Road west of the CBD at 7:00am this morning. Today's events will begin with the first round of the Maiden, followed by a Reserve Open and then conclude with the finals of the Maiden later this afternoon. Competition will continue tomorrow with the first round of the Novice; then Mini, Junior and Juvenile drafts; and then the final of the Reserve Open. And on Sunday, the event will feature the first round of the Open, the final of the Novice, and then the 2nd round and finals of the Open, along with some children's events organised by the Proston Pony Club. The Spurs is always a big event and spectators are welcome to come and watch the action for free. There'll also be limited refreshments in the grounds, and plenty of extra parking available at the nearby Proston Golf Club, which will also be broadcasting this year's campdraft live. Note: Due to wet weather, the Golden Spurs Campdraft was postponed on March 18. It may now be held on April 16-18, but this date has yet to be confirmed.
South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). And anyone who's finding it hard to make ends meet is very welcome to make use of it. More details? Phone James on 0438-071-658.
