South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Power Up Show, Shine & Swap Meet - Nanango
The fifth annual Power Up Car Show & Shine And Swap Meet will be held at the Nanango Sporting Fields in Burnett Street, Nanango from 9:00am to around 1:30pm today. This gold coin donation entry family friendly event is a fundraiser for the Nanango Sporting Association, and all pre-1988 vehicles and motorbikes from veteran to modern are very welcome to take part. It will feature live entertainment, good food and coffee plus lots and lots of great vehicles to inspect, and there'll be trophies and prizes for the winners (trophies will be presented around 12:30pm). Family day vehicle and trade stall holder entrants need to pay $15 and be parked in the designated area by 8:30am to be ready for the gates opening to the public at 9:00am. Bunya Mountains Markets
The monthly Bunya Mountains Markets will be running at Dandabah in the Bunya Mountains today. The markets feature up to 30 stands selling quality, locally-produced fresh produce, arts and crafts and they'll be operating from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Local cafes like Poppies On The Hill and The Bunya Mountains Cafe will be offering special Market Day menus and morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas, and walking trail maps will be available from both cafes, the Bunya Mountains General Store and market stalls if you'd like to take a walk through the adjoining National Park. Hivesville Markets
The Hivesville Country Markets will be held at the Hivesville Sports Grounds from 6:00am to about noon today. These family-friendly monthly markets are held on the 4th Sunday of every month and feature a variety of stalls including fresh local farm produce, plants, crafts and lots of food. Timbertowns Woodworkers - Blackbutt
The Timbertowns Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Sunday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:30am until around 12:00 noon today. Proston Rally
The Proston Car Rally Club will be holding the second (and final) day of their quarterly Proston Rally at their racing track today (the club's track is located 7.5km west of Proston at 757 Proston-Boondooma Road). Racing will commence early this morning and wrap up around 2:00pm this afternoon. Up to 50 cars attend Proston Rally Club meetings from all over Queensland and NSW and spectators are very welcome. There'll also be a BBQ and soft drinks stand running throughout the event, as well as a hearty breakfast supplied by the Proston Lions club available early on Sunday morning. Ranch Sorting - Nanango
The Nanango Campdraft Committee will be holding a Ranch Sorting event from 8:30am today as part of a big weekend of equestrian activities at Nanango Showgrounds. The canteen will be open for refreshments; hot showers and toilet facilities will be available; and spectators are welcome! For more information, contact Emma on 0437-642-385. Kilkivan Railway Markets
The weekly Kilkivan Railway Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. South Burnett Arts will be holding a meeting at Nanango RSL in Henry Street, Nanango from 12:00 noon onwards today for lunch. The meeting will look at the outcomes of its recent community consultation meetings and also discuss the group's representation on the SBRC's new Regional Arts Advisory Committee, which is expected to begin meeting in July.
