South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Goomeri Lions Christmas Carnival
CANCELLED The Goomeri Lions' popular annual Christmas Carnival will be held at the Goomeri Showgrounds from 5:00pm until 8:00pm tonight. The carnival will feature live music, a bar and canteen plus novelty stores. There'll also be a jumping castle and face painting for the kids plus a visit by Santa Claus at 7:00pm. The evening is being supported by the Goomeri State School P&C and the Goomeri Show Society. Everyone is welcome and admission is free!
Orana Hilltop Markets - Kingaroy
The Orana Lutheran Complex at 24 MacDiarmid Street in Kingaroy will be holding their annual Orana Hilltop Markets from 8:00am to around noon this morning in the complex's grounds. The markets will feature a wide range of stalls selling anything from local produce, home-made baked goods through to craft items, clothing, giftware, gardening supplies and bric-a-brac. South Burnett Community Orchestra Concert - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Community Orchestra will be holding its annual end-of-year concert at the Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, from 7:00pm tonight (doors open at 6:30pm). "From Stars To Serenades" will feature music from Star Wars, Titanic, La La Land and more - and just a touch of Christmas! Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase on the evening but you can also order a delicious supper box prepared by JC Catering (order online before November 26). Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students or $50 for two adults and two children. Tickets can be booked online, purchased at Kingaroy Office Central in Haly Street, or at the door on the night.
Handel's Messiah - Nanango
The Toowoomba Philharmonic Society is bringing Handel's Messiah to Nanango again! The concert, at the "Little Cathedral In The Bush", ie. Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Alfred Street, will have 80 choristers, orchestra members and soloists from around the Darling Downs and South Burnett. The concert will get under way at 2:00pm and run until about 4:45pm. Tickets are $45 (or $35 concession) and can be booked online
Community Hall Christmas Dinner Dance - Manumbar
The Manumbar Hall committee will be hosting a dinner-dance from 5:30pm this evening at the hall at 3873 Manumbar Road. There'll be prizes for the best-dressed Christmas character, a lucky door prize and raffle. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for high school students (younger children are free) which includes a roast dinner and dessert. Dear Santa, Keep The Lights On - Wondai
Louise "the Diva" Winton will be bringing Amarina Dean to life this afternoon at Dimities Cottage Café in Haly Street, Wondai. The original production tells the story of a glamourous former starlet facing the challenges of memory loss. The show, which runs from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, includes some favourite Christmas songs along with the multimedia storytelling. Tickets are $40, which includes afternoon tea, and can be booked online

The Maidenwell Hotel's popular monthly Pig On A Spit Night will be running from 6:00pm until late this evening with live music by Dave Lynch and SallyAnna7 from 7:00pm to late. As a bonus, check out the vehicles from the Classic Landcruiser Club of Qld which will be parked outside the pub! Guests can get stuck into more pork than they can poke a fork at, all served up with with roast potatoes, pumpkin, corn, peas, carrots and gravy. South Burnett Cricket
The South Burnett Cricket Association senior and junior games will be played today at locations across the South Burnett. In the Junior Stage 2 competition, Murgon v Kingaroy Cobras at Taabinga State School; and Kingaroy Kookaburras v Nanango 2 at River Road Oval, Kingaroy. In Stage 3, Kingaroy v Murgon at Lyle Vidler Oval, Kingaroy. All junior games start at 8:00am. In Round 8 of the Senior competition, Kingaroy Services v Wooroolin Warriors at Taabinga State School; Murgon Diggers v Nanango Scorpions at Murgon Showgrounds; and Wondai Wolves v Saints at Wondai Cricket Ground. All South Burnett Senior games start at 12:30pm. In the Gympie A Grade competition, Wooroolin Warriors will take on Valleys at Lyle Vidler Oval, Kingaroy; and Murgon Crusaders will play Gympie Colts at Murgon Showgrounds. These games begin at 12:30pm.
Proston Men's Shed
