Remembrance DayToday is Remembrance Day and a number of public services will be held throughout the South Burnett at 11:00am this morning to mark it. Everyone is welcome to attend these services to acknowledge the sacrifices made by our nation's servicemen and women in all the conflicts Australia has participated in. Today's Remembrance Day services will also mark the 107th anniversary of the Armistice which ended WWI (the guns fell silent at 11:00am). 2025 also marks 80 years since the end of WWII.

A commemorative service will be held at the Blackbutt RSL at the corner of Muir and Douglas Streets from 10:30am this morning. More details? Phone John on 0408-010-932.

• Linville:

A small service will be held at the cenotaph in Linville, across the road from the Linville Hotel, at 10:45am.

• Yarraman:
|
|
A service will be held at the Yarraman Cenotaph on the D'Aguilar Highway at 10:45am (wreath-layers should arrive prior to 10:30am).

• Nanango:
|
|
A service will be held at the Nanango War Memorial at the corner of Henry and Drayton streets from 11:00am this morning (assembly is at 10:45am). Guest speakers will be Member for nango Deb Frecklington and Cr Jane Erkens. Refreshments will then be available at the Nanango RSL Club.

• Kingaroy:
|

This year's Kingaroy Remembrance Day service will be held at Memorial Park in Haly Street, Kingaroy, beginning with a short parade in the park to the Memorial Rotunda at 10:45am (assemble at the Burnett Street end of the footpath). Guest speaker will be Lieutenant David Upton RAN. After the service, all guests will be invited to Kingaroy RSL for refreshments.

• Kumbia:
|
|
A commemoration service will be held at Kumbia Memorial Hall from 10:30am. There will be an address, followed by a wreath-laying and the presentation of an art piece by Heather Anderson. Light refreshments will be available, the bar will be open and war footage will be screened.

• Wondai:
|
|
A service will be held at the cenotaph outside the Wondai Town Hall in Mackenzie Street at 11:00am this morning (assembly is at 10:45am). The commemoration will be followed by light refreshments at the nearby Wondai RSL Club.

• Murgon:
|
|
A service will be held at the Murgon War Memorial on the corner of Lamb and Gore Streets between 10:30am and 11:15am this morning. The day's proceedings will be followed by a light lunch in the Diggers Room to which everyone is invited.

• Cherbourg:
|
|
Cherbourg State School will be hosting a service in the school's undercover area. Assemble at 10:45am.

• Goomeri:
|
|
Goomeri RSL members will be hosting a service at the Cenotaph at 10:45am. There will be light refreshments and the drawing of raffles immediately aftewards at the Goomeri Hall of Memory.

• Proston:
|
|
Proston State School will be hosting a Remembrance Day ceremony in the schoolgrounds. All Proston residents are invited to atten.; assemble at 10:40am. Refreshments will be available afterwards.

• Widgee:
|
|
Widgee will mark Remembrance Day with a service at the Widgee Cenotaph next to Widgee Hall. Guests should arrive no later than 10:50am for the 11:00am service.

WBDA AGM - Wondai
The Wondai Business & Development Association will be holding their Annual General Meeting from 6:30am today at the Wondai Colonial Motel, 135 Haly Street, Wondai (ie. the Bunya Highway). RSVP for breakfast ($20) to (07) 4168-5633. New members are always welcome!
Tuesday Night Trivia - Kingaroy
- Kingaroy RSL Club in Markwell Street, Kingaroy will be holding a free Trivia Night from 6:30pm this evening. Dinner orders are available from 5:30pm. Play takes place in teams of two to six, but numbers are limited so a booking is essential. Phone the club on (07) 4162-1755.
Art Workshop - Nanango
- The Nanango Community Centre - the old Scout Hall at 40 Henry Street - hosts an art workshop every Tuesday morning from 9:30am. They do a different project every week using a wide variety of materials. Cost is just $10 which includes all you need. More info? Email Sandie.
Tuesday Croquet - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Croquet Club will be playing croquet games at the Kingaroy Cricket Club in Youngman Street, Kingaroy (just next to Beangrowers) from 8:30am to around 11:30am this morning. Kingaroy Run Co
- The Kingaroy Run Co social running group will meet up at Hunter Gatherer Trader in Alford Street, Kingaroy at 6:00am this morning for a 30-minute run that will finish with a cup of coffee. The group meets every Tuesday morning, is open to anyone of any ability level, and has no membership fee.
QCWA Craft Day - Kingaroy

Tuesday Night Poker - Nanango

Blackbutt Darts Club

- The Wooroolin Line Dancers will be holding line dancing classes for beginners and intermediate dancers at Wooroolin Hall on the Bunya Highway at Wooroolin from 9:00am to 10:00am this morning (for beginners) and 10:00am to 12:30pm (for improvers). Creative Connections - Kingaroy
- Centacare in the Biscuit Tin behind the church at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy will be holding a Creative Connections get-together from 10:00am to 12:00 noon this morning. Alcoholics Anonymous - Murgon
- Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for membership. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution. AA meets in Murgon every Tuesday and Friday at 12:30pm at the Baptist Church at 94 Macalister Street. For more information, phone 1300-222-222.
South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 1A (Lot 3) Railway Terrace in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
