South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Bunya Mountains Markets
The Bunya Mountains Markets, held on the last Sunday of every month, will be running at Dandabah in the Bunya Mountains today. The markets feature up to 30 stands selling quality, locally produced fresh produce, arts and crafts and they'll be operating from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Local cafés like Poppies On The Hill and The Bunya Mountains Café will be offering special Market Day menus and morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas. Walking trail maps will be available from both cafés, the Bunya Mountains General Store and market stalls if you'd like to take a stroll through the adjoining National Park. More details? Wondai Spring Garden Expo
The second day of the weekend long Wondai Spring Garden Expo will be held at the Wondai Sports Grounds off the Bunya Highway just north of Wondai's CBD from 8:00am this morning through until 1:00pm this afternoon. The Expo is one of the largest gardening shows of its type in south-east Queensland and always draws hundreds of keen gardeners every September. As well as a huge range of plant and garden-related product displays, the Expo will also feature several guest speakers talking on a variety of gardening topics throughout the day. There'll be plenty of food and drink available, too. Admission is $5 per day or a two-day pass for $8 (Under 15s free) and you can get more details and/or book a stand of your own on the Garden Expo's website or by phoning Jodi on 0413-115-495.
Hivesville Country Markets
The monthly Hivesville Country Markets will be held at Memorial Park (opposite the Hivesville Hotel in Main Street) from 7:00am to around noon this morning. These family-friendly markets are held on the 4th Sunday of every month (except December) and feature a variety of stalls including fresh local farm produce, plants, crafts and lots of food. New stallholders are very welcome, too!
Kilkivan Community Garden & Railway Markets
The monthly Kilkivan Community Garden & Railway Markets - held on the last Sunday of the month (February to November) are on again from 7:00am this morning at 2a Bligh Street (opposite the hotel. For more information, or to book a stall, phone Deborah on 0448-749-727.
Movie Night - Kumbia
The Kumbia Hall Committee is hosting a screening of the award-winning movie, "Just A Farmer", from 5:30pm tonight at the Kumbia Memorial Hall. The movie portrays the challenges and triumphs of life in rural Australia. The screening has been made possible by funding from FRRR & the Red Earth Community Foundation. Kumbia QCWA will be providing a free supper afterwards. Entry is by gold coin donation but registrations online are requested for catering purposes.
Community Pickleball - Woolooga
Woolooga Community Hall is hosting community pickleball every Sunday from 3:30pm at the hall at 8 Thomas Street, Woolooga. Everyone is welcome to come along, including beginners. All equipment is provided at the court, so just bring water!
Sunday Afternoon Poker - Kingaroy

Breast Cancer Lunch - Murgon
A "Pink Up October" lunch to raise funds for the McGrath Foundation will be held from 11:30am this morning at the Royal Hotel in Lamb Street, Murgon. Cost is $35 for a two-course meal. Kumbia Museum
The Kumbia and District Historical Society's museum, located in the Federation Heritage Centre behind Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, will be open from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon. Angel Flight Weekend - Woolooga
The annual two-day charity trail ride weekend will continue at 'Turavale', 3257 Bauple-Woolooga Road, Woolooga, today. There'll be live music, an auction, raffles and free camping. Nanango Dog Show
Today is Day 2 of the Nanango Kennel Club's huge two-day dog show at the Nanango Showgrounds. The day will start at 8:30am. There will be more than 350 dogs entered in seven different categories. Visitors are welcome to come along to watch and entry to the showgrounds is free. A canteen will also be operating.

Wondai Community Share
The Wondai Community Share group will be meeting from 9:00am sharp today at a different venue. Meet for this week only at the picnic table near the Wondai Visitor Information Centre on the Bunya Highway. Visitors at this free get-together can bring along any excess fruit, vegetables, baked goods or other household items they have to swap with others for things they may need, or simply to give them away. Everyone is welcome!
