2025 Wondai ShowThe main day of the two-day Wondai Show will run at the Wondai Showgrounds in Baynes Street, Wondai today. Gates will open at 6:30am for breakfast in the cattle section, and this will be followed by judging of horses, stud beef, dairy cattle and poultry which will get underway at 8:30am. The pavilions, sideshows and trade displays will open at 9:00am and out in the main ring, chainsaw racing will start at 9:30am along with judging for the Show & Shine exhibits, Truck Show and Ute Show. The Australian Stock Horse Challenge will start at 11:00am in Ring 3. The Show's official opening will take place at 11:30am and this will be followed by the Grand Parade at 12:30pm. The Full Throttle Motorbikes display will be on at 10:00am and 2:30pm. The pavilions will close at 4:00pm, followed by Pavilion prize presentations; Barrel Racing and the Round 1 of the Bullride will start at 6:00pm; followed by fireworks at 7:00pm, Round 2 of the bullride at 7:30pm and music from 8:30pm until late. There'll also be lots of food stalls operating throughout the day as well as a licensed bar from 1:00pm and a barbecue. Admission to today's Show is just $15 for adults; $10 for pensioners and high school students; and $2 for primary school students (U5s are free).
Pirates, Cowboys And Aliens - Nanango
The Perseverance Street Theatre Company is bringing their production of Sofia Abbey's hilarious play, "Pirates, Cowboys and Aliens" to Nanango Theatre Company for two performances only today! The play explores unlikely friendships and children who refuse to grow up. There'll be a matinee session at 2:00pm and an evening performance at 7:00pm. Long Ride Fundraising Dinner - Blackbutt
- The Blackbutt RSL Sub-Branch and Main Street Realty are hosting a fundraising dinner from 5:30pm tonight at the Blackbutt RSL Club, corner of Muir and Douglas streets, to support three members - Gary Bingham, Steve Casey and Steven Smyth - who are taking part in the 4000km "The Long Ride" from Brisbane to Esperance, WA. The riders are raising funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. Cost is $30 per person, which includes dinner and dessert. Bookings can be made at the club (open Thursday to Sunday from 3:00pm).

Elegant Afternoon Tea - Murgon
The 55 Million Years Ago museum and art gallery at 73 Macalister Street, Murgon, will be hosting an elegant afternoon tea from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon. Churchyard Op Shop Markets - Nanango
- The Anglican Churchyard Op Shop, at the corner of Drayton and Burnett Streets in Nanango, will be open from 7:30am to around 11:30am today. There'll be stalls selling plants, craftwork, books, bric-a-brac and lots more, as well as a $3 sausage sizzle and tea and coffee for a gold coin donation. Come & Try Dragon Boating - BP Dam
The Barambah Dragons dragon boat club invites people to try out the ancient Chinese sport of dragon boat racing at Bjelke-Petersen Dam from 9:00am (for a 9:30am paddle-off) on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. Paddles and gear will be supplied but participants should wear closed shoes that can tolerate getting wet and bring along sunscreen, water, a towel and warm clothes for afterwards. The event is free and will be followed by a gold coin donation sausage sizzle. Everyone is welcome! NB. Check the club's Facebook page as times could change due to the weather.

Wondai Country Markets
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery's monthly Wondai Country Markets will be operating at Coronation Park in Wondai's CBD from 7:00am to 12:00 noon this morning. The markets feature stallholders selling fresh fruit and vegetables, arts and crafts, useful knick-knacks and clothing. There'll also be live entertainment; lots of other stalls selling great gifts and goodies; and special hand-made treasures from local artisans. The BBQs will also be firing up from around 6:45am to dish out hearty breakfasts for early bargain hunters.
